Silent Saturday

Silent Saturday

Until yesterday, I had never heard the term silent Saturday in regards to the day between the death and resurrection of Jesus. As I thought more about it, it makes sense. I can not imagine what was going through the minds’ of the apostles. Their rabbi had been crucified. I can only guess they were quietly mourning the loss of Yeshua.

Take the day and silently reflect on what Jesus has done for you in your life. The hardships he has helped you through; the happiness you have as a result of knowing that no matter what happens, you win in the end. You will be with Jesus for eternity. Share what Jesus has done for you with others.

28And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30I and My Father are one.” – John 10 28-30

If you have hate in your heart for another person, such as someone that has wronged you, that person that cut you off in traffic, that person that took the last roll of toilet paper, or even a politician that you do not even know, pray for the Holy Spirit to open your heart to forgiveness and love. Use today to reflect on Jesus’s words about loving your enemy.

43“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, 45that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? 48Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect. – Matthew 43-48

We are living in a world none of us have ever experienced. Times are difficult. People have lost jobs, the economy is almost non-existent, people are getting sick and some of them are dying. I pray that today will be a day of reflection for you. No matter what happens if you know Jesus everything will be all right in the end.

If you do not know, Yeshua, Jesus, The Christ, what are you waiting for? He wants to know you. Open your heart and come to know him, before it is too late.
