Good Friday John 3:16

Good Friday, Great Friday

Today is Good Friday. For me, it represents John 3:16. It is the day that Jesus died for our sins and was buried. It is the darkest and bleakest moment in our existence, but it was a necessity for the resurrection to occur. It was the day that GOD’s wrath against SIN was poured out onto his son, Jesus, as he hung on the cross for you and me. As Paul tells us in Romans 3:26, that dreadful day allowed GOD ..to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus. I’ll say about the resurrection in two days, Easter Sunday.

We are already on cloud nine as we begin to celebrate Easter, but GOD gave us another reason to be blissful. Melinda had a virtual follow-up with her oncologist yesterday. He told us that he did not see any new growth and as a result, he recommended we begin to scale back the chemo treatments for the next three months.

PRAISE THE LORD!!!
GOD IS GOOD!!!
GOD IS IN CONTROL!!!

We talked about the coronavirus. He said the type of chemo that Melinda is on does not weaken the immune system as much as others. He stressed we continue to be careful, but was not as concerned about her continuing treatments as he is with some of his other patients. This was a relief as going to appointments was stressing Melinda a bit.

Before I go any further, I need to stop and do what Melinda asked me to be sure and do. Melinda wanted me to be sure and Thank you for your prayers.

We can not say enough THANK YOU’s to all those that have prayed for Melinda and continue to pray for her daily. I ask that you continue to pray for her as her battle continues. Also, please pray for all those dealing with COVID-19; the doctors and nurses, all those supporting them, all those helping with the supply chains, all those grocery workers, all those affected financially, those that have lost jobs, those struggling to find food, and our for our leaders.

Now off to celebrate Good Friday. We plan to read Mathew 26, 27, & 28 and Luke 22, 23, & 24 as well as re-watch, The Passion of the Christ. We also plan to watch GOOD FRIDAY – WORLDWIDE on K-LOVE starting at 7 PM CST to worship with music from Chris Tomlin, a message from Max Lucado, and guest appearances by Pat Barrett, We The Kingdom, and Matt Maher. We pray you have a Good Friday and get to spend some time with God and your family.
