One Day at a Time

12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

James 1:12 (NIV)

Melinda’s stomach issues are still coming and going; which makes some days better than others.  Most days she eats grilled chicken, avocados, spinach, a variety of smoothies, and Flax4Life Chocolate Brownies. I am just glad that most days she is eating. She is slowly putting back the weight she lost during the last round of Chemo.

Recently, Melinda and I have been watching In the Woods with Phil and Unashamed with Phil Robertson on Blaze.TV.  Phil has a way of saying things that really make us think. It has been very uplifting. It makes us laugh which has been good for us both. The Unashamed episode with Phil, Al, Jase, and Willie had us rolling on the floor with laughter. As Job 8:21 says, “He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy.”

We were able to make it out to see Overcomer.  It was a very uplifting movie. Be sure and take your tissues, it will open up your tear ducts. We try to go to movies to support films like Overcomer, Breakthrough, Unplanned, etc., so more will be made.  We pray others will do the same. We need more positive films at the box office and in this country.

Can you tell Melinda cried a lot?

Yesterday, we meet with radiology.  He said the last MRI looked good. He will put orders in for Melinda to have another MRI done in the next week or two. He did not know much about Melinda’s current neuro-oncologist leaving Austin Cancer Center for Texas Oncology.  He suggested we just see a general oncologist with Austin Cancer Center until a neuro-oncologist is hired. We plan to call Texas Oncology and insurance about staying with her current neuro-oncologist. He knows Melinda’s case the best and we do not want to change if it can be helped.  We are not sure if we can continue to use him and the current radiologist. We like them both. We just pray that God will do what is best for Melinda’s treatment.

Please PRAY for continued healing for Melinda, PRAY for God’s will to be done in all things, and PLEASE PRAY for OUR COUNTRY. It’s my personal opinion, we are now seeing the results of past decisions to take God’s word out of our schools and society.
