Back to Church

21 For to me, to live is Christ [He is my source of joy, my reason to live] and to die is gain [for I will be with Him in eternity]. Philippians 1:21 Amplified Bible (AMP)

We are still waiting to hear back about when Melinda will start treatment. Wednesday she got an MRI and CT Scan, so they could calibrate the radiation machine. We had expected to start treatment this week, but as of now have not heard anything. We can only guess that they are still working on calibrations for her treatment.

We were able to go to church today. It was a blessing to see Melinda sitting in Sunday school class again. It was a bigger blessing to be able to join Lakeview Baptist Church (https://www.lbcbelton.org/). LBC has been such a blessing to us over the past several months. We cannot say enough about how great all the people we have met there have been. We can’t wait until Melinda is better and we can get more involved. I was also baptized today; I will say more on that later as I am working on my testimony. I do want to say how thankful I am to have two wonderful children that drove up from college to see me get baptized.

This afternoon I attended the funeral of William Joe Pitts. Joe was my Grandmother’s brother. I remember him as Uncle Joe. His service was held at the 1st Baptist Church of Troy. It was a very uplifting service. I wish all funerals were as positive about the person being in heaven as he was. My Uncle David gave a very moving speech about giving yourself over to Jesus. It also reminded me how important family is. I am glad to know that one day I will see my Grandma, Uncle Joe, and many others again when I too join them at the feet of Jesus.
