A Morning Prayer

Dear Jesus,

Things are getting distressing down here. I know you already know that. It helps me to just say it. This coronavirus is nothing new to you. You have seen all the viruses that have been, are, and will be. You know about the ultimate virus, SIN, with its 100% mortality rate. Paul knew it and told us about it,

“Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned and will kill us all”

Romans 5:12

I THANK YOU, LORD JESUS, for giving me and anyone that believes in you a way to overcome death. You died on the cross for my SINs. I do not deserve it. I know my actions do not always reflect your teachings. I ask for guidance and forgiveness for that. I believe you hurt for those that are hurting and I take comfort in seeing you smile as your children step up to help others in this time of need.

I see you in Melinda each day. Her smile; you are there. Yeshua, it is hard for me to see her in pain. It gives me comfort that you have her in your embrace. Thank you for safe travels to and from chemo treatments. Thank you for the staff that helped to deliver the chemo. LORD, please please all those doctors, nurses, and everyone else involved trying to help those in need. Keep them safe as more are exposed to COVID-19. Jesus, please help the chemo do what it needs to heal Melinda’s body and keep sickness away from her.

GOD, I know this world is not the world you planned for us. We ruined that with SIN. I THANK YOU, GOD, for sending your son to die for those SINs. I THANK YOU, Jesus, for dying on the Cross for those SINs, but most importantly conquering DEATH three days later; giving me the hope and joy of being with you forever.

Jesus, I fear things may get worse. Our government has shut everything down for four more weeks. People have lost jobs, the money they have in hand may not last four more weeks. What will they do? I know you know, LORD. I lift these people up to you, Jesus. I pray that your children will draw closer to you during this time and those that do not know you will find you among this worrisome situation.

GOD the news keeps showing the number of infected and the number that have died and all I can think about, is DID THEY KNOW YOU? My heart aches at the thought of them dying without knowing you, yet rejoicing that those that do know you are now with you. I struggle as to why so many reject you, LORD. Are they blinded by the arrogance of man or they just led astray by THE EVIL ONE?

LORD, I ask that you bless my church and all churches as they begin to feel the struggles of our economy coming up on a gridlock. Jesus, I ask that you help them find ways to celebrate Easter, your resurrection, which makes all things possible. Open the hearts of humankind, so they may come together and worship you. LORD, may those that are lost find you through this darkness.

Jesus, I praise you for this time with my family. I praise you for providing both children with jobs that have allowed them to continue to work remotely during this time of uncertainty. I praise you for my job and the flexibility it has given me. I thank you for Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace (FP). I thank you for sending YNAB (You Need a Budget) my way. You knew I needed it as a tool to implement FP. I praise you for the roof over my head, the vehicles you provided, and the food we eat.

GOD, help me cope with the stress this virus has caused in my life. Help me adjust to working from home. Help me balance work and personal life. I miss my drive to and from work. It was a time to spend with you. It was a time to decompress. I miss my co-workers, especially our Friday lunches. I look forward to things returning to normal but fear that day is far away, if ever.

Jesus, I want to THANK YOU. It is because of my salvation in you that COVID-19 does not scare me. Death does not scare me. My death will just be my plane ride to the ultimate destination. Jesus, you offer us all the ultimate travel experience. Eternal life in your GLORY; on a new earth, Heaven. I pray that everyone has the opportunity to hear about your DAD’s travel plans and will purchase a ticket up and not down. GOD tells us everyone will get a ticket. Tickets up only cost one to believe in what you did for them and to surrender their life to you, LORD JESUS. Those that refuse you get a ticket to a hot place that I pray no one would choose. O LORD, if only they would listen.

THANK YOU, LORD JESUS,

AMEN.
