Not the Energizer Bunny

Not the Energizer Bunny

Joshua did what Moses ordered in order to fight Amalek. And Moses, Aaron, and Hur went to the top of the hill. It turned out that whenever Moses raised his hands, Israel was winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, Amalek was winning. But Moses’ hands got tired. So they got a stone and set it under him. He sat on it and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on each side. So his hands remained steady until the sun went down. Joshua defeated Amalek and its army in battle.

Exodus 17:10-13 The Message (MSG)

Some days we just need help to hold our hands high, like Moses. Sorry, I have not updated in a while. My batteries need to be recharged or as I told Melinda today they need to be replaced so I can go on like the Energizer Bunny. Until then, I will continue to pray each day for strength to make it to the next.

Melinda has been struggling with stomach issues all week. She is still eating and drinking which is good. She had a small meltdown this week over losing some hair. This last round of radiation in combination with Chemo has caused a large bald spot. I kept reminding her that this happened before, it grew back, and she can do a combover. She did not think the last part funny, but it did lighten the mood and get her back into better spirits. I thank God that I can still get her to laugh during all this.

We still have not heard anything from the Onogologist. He is just not the same as he was when he was with Austin Cancer Center. I am not sure if he has a lot more patients with Texas Oncology or the system used to communicate with him just does not work well. Melinda has an appointment next week, so hopefully, we will hear something then.

Dear GOD,
We sometimes feel exhausted. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to complete everything. The struggles and demands some days are more than we can handle. Thank you for taking those burdens. Let us take comfort in turning to you. Please fill us with your strength, your joy, your peace, and your wisdom. Most importantly open our hearts to the needs of others. LORD Jesus, may we find rest in you as we lay down to sleep. If you do not call us home then let us wake tomorrow refreshed to spread your GOSPEL to the world.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
