Isaiah 7:14

Believe EMManuel

Back in 2004, I registered the domain, bemm.net; the B was for Brian, the E was for Ed, the M for Melinda, and the last M for Megan. BEMM.net has gone through a lot of changes over the years which can be viewed at the Web Archive. What was I thinking with those colors in 2004? Anyway, when Brian moved off to college I got the feeling that bemm.net should stand for something more. Then Megan left and then Melinda was diagnosed with cancer. BEMM.net took on a whole new direction as I used it to tell her story, my story of growing with Jesus, updates on family, and much more.

I have been praying about it for several years. Every time I prayed about what it could stand for I would come up with B should stand for Believe and E should be for Emmanuel, but could never come up with something for the two M’s. I will not get into the spelling debate of Immanuel vs Emmanuel, I will leave that up to scholars. The other day as I was praying on it again, I had the urge to write it down. When I did, it was obvious, Believe EMManuel. The Holy Spirit was telling me what it should be the entire time; I just didn’t see it. It amazes me how God can use something that we do for ourselves in the past and turn it into something for him years later. Anyway, I feel like BEMM.net or Believe EMManuel or Believe it; God is with Us is a perfect representation of what this website has become.

I pray that for those that read these words it will always be a blessing. I plan to continue to post when I feel led to by the Spirit and as long as God allows it. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – John 4:16. I do not understand why anyone that calls themselves a Christian would say there are many ways to God. It is not Biblical and to say such a thing is to call Jesus a liar. You should Believe EMManuel and heed his words. Your eternal salvation may very well depend on it.
