Leviticus 19:28

The Holy Spirit Slapped Me

As I skimmed through my daily list of blog posts, I came across the article “Shiite Muslims in Mideast mark solemn holy day of Ashoura“. The picture in the article grabbed my attention. I wondered why they were painting themselves red? The horror struck me when I realized it was blood, not paint. Then the Holy Spirit slapped me with a repeating chorus of “Do we worship the same GOD?”

I am not sure why “Do we worship the same GOD?” kept repeating in my head. Maybe it has to do with articles I have read like Do Christians And Muslims Worship The Same God?” or videos I have watched like One World Religion! (Chrislam Opening In 2022. Personally, I believe it is the Holy Spirit screaming, NO!!!

Why would I think that?

Let’s be honest, when I think about reading the Bible the Book of Leviticus is not at the top of my list. That is why I can only give credit to the Spirit when the verse about not cutting oneself popped into my head. If we worshipped the same GOD, then those Muslims would not be cutting themselves with knives to mark the death of Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. Our GOD tells us, do not cut your bodies for the dead.

Is it News

Do you remember when the news used to be unbiased? Today, the majority of news is far left or far right in my humble opinion. That is why I try to listen to different points of view. I even listen to NPR every once in a while, but the majority of my news comes from conservative bloggers. I did laugh today when it dawned on me that NPR radio and most Christian radio are very close on the FM spectrum. See GOD does have a sense of humor. How many hardcore NPR listeners have found themselves listening to conservative radio because it was close to their NPR channel?

The GOOD NEWS

Our world may be turning darker day by day, but that does not mean there is no good news. Did you know that God sent his son Jesus to die for our sins? It is because of that sacrifice that you and I have the opportunity to live forever with him. If you do not know Jesus it is not too late, but the day is coming when it will be. Do not wait for death or for Jesus’s return to find him. When you meet our God, you will want Jesus on your side and your name in the Lamb’s book of life?
