It is Easter Sunday, my mind thinks about the sheer weight of what happened over two thousand years ago. It is a time when we stop to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. I often think about how Jesus died on that cross for my sins, providing what I like to call “blood-colored goggles” for God to look at a sinner like me. Through His shed blood, I am washed cleaned.
To be honest, I still struggle with sin every single day. Even as a follower of Christ, I find myself failing and sinning miserably more often than I’d like to admit. It is a constant battle between my old self and the new person the Holy Spirit is trying to mold me into. There are moments when I get frustrated with my own shortcomings, but then I remember that we are all made in the image of God. That truth changes how I see myself and how I see others.
Luke 24:6a, which says, “He is not here; he has risen!”. Those few words are the foundation of everything we believe. Everyone is born and everyone dies, but only Jesus overcame the grave to give us all HOPE. Because He rose, we have the hope of eternal life. We are not just living for this world, which is fleeting and full of trouble, but for the one to come.

I find myself longing for His return more and more lately. As I look at the news, struggles in my own life with family and friends, and see how much hate and division there is in our society, my heart aches. It feels like the world is moving further away from God’s Word every minute. I am ready for Christ to gather up His bride and bring us home to paradise.
Are you ready for His return? If Jesus were to come back tomorrow, would you be confident in where you are heading? I used to have doubts, but now I can say with 100% certainty that I have that blessed assurance. If you are not sure, I beg you not to wait. The gift of salvation is free, and it is the only thing that will matter when we stand before the judgment seat.
I pray that this Easter, you will take a moment to reflect on the GOSPEL. God created us to be with Him, but our sins separated us. Jesus paid the price we couldn’t pay so that everyone who trusts in Him can have eternal life. He is risen indeed!.
