Brain’s operation time was suppose to begin at 2:00 PM, so we left the house around 9ish to give us plenty of time to get there. In route, we received a call asking if we could be there by 11AM. I told them I would try. I put the pedal to metal and we arrived at Children’s at 11:30AM. The check in process was easy, quick, and secure. Children’s does a great job at making you feel at ease. Brian went straight back to pre-operations. Melinda and his MeMa went with him. We thought it best that daddy and papa stayed out. The operation took 2 1/2 hours. After about an hour, a nurse came out to give us an update on Brian. She that the doctor had finished with the right leg and would now begin
working on the left. We expected the left leg to take about the same amount of time, so after an hour and 15 minutes we began to worry that something was wrong. Just as I was about to go ask a nurse came out and asked for Brian’s dad and mom. She told us the doctor was wrapping up, everything went great, and could would go to the consulting room so the doctor could go over the surgery. It took another 15 minutes for the doctor to come talk to us. In case you don’t know you should not keep worried parents waiting. It only gives them time to think about what might be going wrong to delay the doctor.

The doctor told us that the surgery went great. He said the injured leg had taken longer because he he remembered the injured blood vessel. He selected to not restrict the blood flow to the leg like he did on the right. He then gave us some pictures showing what he had done.
